MANILA, Philippines — Nilinaw ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) na tatlong kumpanya lang ang pinayagan para mag-ope­rate bilang motorcycle taxi service sa bansa.

Ayon kay Atty. Roberto Peig, Executive director ng LTFRB, ang Angkas, JoyRide at Move It lamang ang authorized at accredited ng Technical Working Group (TWG) para sa motor taxi pilot study na ngayon ay nasa limang taon na.

Una nang hiniling ng National Public Transport Coalition and the National Confederation of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (NACTODAP ) na huwag nang dagdagan pa ng TWG ang tatlong accredited MC taxi operators dahil apektado na ang kita ng ibang pampasaherong sasakyan sa bansa.

Hindi na rin dapat pang dagdagan ng LTFRB ang naturang tatlong kumpanyang nabigyan ng accreditation na makasama sa pilot study ng MC Taxi service dahil ang usapin ay pinag-uusapan na sa Kamara.

Ayon kay NACTODAP president Ariel Lim, kung dadami pa ang operator ng MC Taxi Service ay lalong mababawasan ang kanilang kita na pumapasada sa araw-araw tulad ng PUJ, Sedan Taxi at UV express service.
