EDSA People Power Revolution ‘di kasali

MANILA, Philippines — Inilabas na ng Mala­cañang ang listahan ng regular holidays at special non-working days para sa susunod na taon.

Batay sa Proclamation No. 368 na pinirmahan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, inata­san ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na ipatupad ang guidelines para sa proklamasyon.

Kabilang sa mga regular holiday ay ang mga sumusunod:

Jan. 1 New Year’s Day; March 28 Maundy Thursday; March 29 Good Friday; April 9 Araw ng Kagitingan; May 1 Labor Day; June 12 Indepen­dence Day

Aug. 26 National Heroes Day (Last Monday of August); Nov. 30 Bonifacio Day; Dec. 25 Christmas Day at Dec. 30 Rizal Day.

Ang mga special non-working days naman ay ang mga sumusunod: Aug. 21 Ninoy Aquino Day; Nov. 1 All Saints’ Day; Dec. 8 Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary Dec. 31 Last Day of the Year.

Hindi kasama sa lista­han ng special non-working days ang EDSA People Power Revolution na dati ay tuwing February 25 sa mga nakalipas na administrasyon.

Narito naman ang mga karagdagang special non-working days: Feb. 10 Chinese New Year; March 30 Black Saturday;

Nov. 2 All Souls’ Day; Dec. 24 Christmas Eve.

Ang petsa naman para sa national holidays gaya ng Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha ay ibabatay sa Islamic calendar o lunar calendar o sa pamamagitan ng Islamic astronomical calculations batay sa magiging rekomendasyon ng National Commission on Muslim Filipinos sa Office of the President.
