Turismo sa Region 8, sisipa sa pinailawang San Juanico Bridge -- Marcos
MANILA, Philippines — Lalago ang ekonomiya at turismo sa Eastern Visayas o Region 8 dahil sa pailaw at sound show sa San Juanico Bridge.
Ito ang kumpiyansang ipinahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa kanyang talumpati sa bayan ng Sta Rita, Samar kung saan personal niyang sinaksihan ang 21-minutong light at sound show, sinabi ni Marcos na sinadya niyang puntahan ang event dahil malapit sa kanyang puso ang San Juanico Bridge.
Ang 2.16 kilometrong San Juanico Bridge, na nagdudugtong sa isla ng Leyte at Samar islands ay pinagawa sa administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at pinasinayaan sa kaarawan ni dating First Lady Imelda Marcos, isang Taclobanon, noong Hulyo 1973.
“With the recent completion of the San Juanico Aesthetic Lighting Project, I look forward to seeing the bridge turn into a true sight to behold not just during the day but now even in the dark at night. I look forward to the economic opportunities that will be stimulated by this as well as other Spark Samar initiatives in the near future,” wika ni Marcos.
“I eagerly anticipate the assistance it will bring for the complete recovery of the tourism industry in the Eastern Visayas and nearby areas,” dugtong ng Pangulo.
Nasa P80 milyon ang inilaang pondo ng Department of Tourism sa naturang proyekto.
