3 ex-DepEd officials sabit sa anomalya ng cellphone

MANILA, Philippines - Matapos mapatuna­yang may probable cause sa kasong paglabag sa Section 3(e) ng Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (Republic Act No. 3019) hinggil sa maanomalyang pagbili ng 32 units ng cellular phones na may halagang  P317,380.00 noong 2007 ay pinakakasuhan ng Ombudsman  ang da­ting tatlong matataas na opisyal ng  Department of Education (Deped) sa Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

Sa anim na pahinang resolusyon na ipinalabas ni Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao Rodolfo Elman, guilty umano sina dating Schools Division Superintendent Aurora Cubero, Division Superintendent Salvacion Yumang at Administrative Officer Emma Betonio sa naturang anomalya.

Batay sa record, lumabas na noong November 2007, ang mga respondents ay nag-facilitate sa pagbili ng  32 cellphones sa pamamagitan ng pag-sa-shopping at pagkakaroon ng cash advance  na nagsasabing ang naturang mga  items ay matin­ding pangangailangan ng mga opisyal ng ahensiya.
