Cataquiz isinulong ang SPUR program

MANILA, Philippines - Sa ginanap na multi-Asian City planning conference sa Singapore kamakailan ay isinulong ni San Pedro City, Laguna Mayor Lourdez Cataquiz ang kanyang priority programs sa ilalim ng San Pedro Urban Renewal (SPUR) na ang layunin ay  makakuha ng foreign investors upang tumulong sa kanilang lungsod sa deve­lopment priority nito sa pamamagitan ng Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

“We are following President Aquino’s national deve­lopment strategy of pursuing big projects under the PPP scheme, hence, we decided to be part of this international gathering sponsored  by the ADB Cities Development Initiatives for Asia (CDIA) and the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, wika pa ni Mayor Cataquiz pagdating nito mula sa kanyang Singapore trip.

Iniharap ni Mayor Cataquiz sa ibat ibang alkalde at public infrastructure managers at urban planning experts mula sa Singapore, US and Asian Development Bank ang state of the art na Water Filtration na siyang lulutas sa kakaharaping water crisis ng lungsod sa susunod na 10-15 taon.

Nakisalamuha sa round table discussion si Mayor Cataquiz na inorganisa ng ADB-CDIA at DBS Bank of Singapore na nilahukan din ng corporate executives mula sa DBS at ibang Singaporean companies na engaged sa PPP projects sa Singapore at iba pang bansa.

Kasama ni Mayor Cataquiz sa multi-Asian city conference ay ang mga Mayors at urban planners mula sa cities of Bhopal (India), Bogor (Indonesia), Kandy (Sri Lanka), Samarang (Indonesia), Tangekang (Indonesia) at Ulaanbataar (Mongolia).
