Sapat na panahon kailangan ng mga bagong opisyal ng BOC

MANILA, Philippines - Bigyan muna ng sapat na panahon si bagong talagang Customs Commissioner John Phillip Sevilla at Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Jessie Dellosa para patunayan ang kanilang kakayahan na magpatupad ng reporma sa Bureau of Customs (BoC).

Ayon kay Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, seryoso ang gobyerno at BoC na wakasan nito ang sinabing corruption sa ahensiya kasunod ng nabunyag na P6-B pay-off sa mga tiwaling empleyado at opisyal ng Customs ng sinasabing rice cartel.

Ang dating undersecretary ng Department of Finance na si Sevilla ang hinirang ng Pangulong Benigno Aquino III bilang kapalit nang nagbitiw na si BoC chief Ruffy Biazon, matapos naman itong masangkot sa multi-million “pork” barrel scandal. Si Dellosa ay retired chief of staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Binanggit pa ni Valte na bagama’t bago pa lamang sa posisyon ay sinisimulan na ng dalawang opisyal ang imbestigasyon kaugnay sa mga anomalya sa tanggapan.

“They are all taking note of everything that comes out - of all the reports that come out.. So let’s just give them time to start doing their job,” dagdag ni Valte.
