10 sundalo ‘missing in action’

MANILA, Philippines - Iniulat kahapon ng tanggapan ni National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Eduardo del  Rosario na sampung miyembro ng elite  Special Forces (SF) ng Philippine Army ang missing in action matapos na makasagupa nila ang hindi pa madeterminang bilang ng mga rebeldeng New People’s Army (NPA) sa Brgy. Anticala, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

Ayon kay Del Rosario, bandang alas-3:00 ng hapon noong Miyerkules nang magsagupa ang tropa ng Philippine Army at hindi pa madeterminang bilang ng mga rebelde sa nasabing lugar.

Hindi pa matukoy ang pangalan ng nasabing mga sundalo na pawang nasa ilalim ng Command ng Army’s 4th Infantry Division (ID).

Ang engkuwentro ay nagbunsod sa paglikas ng 150 pamilya o kabuuang 750 katao  sa takot na maipit sa bakbakan.

Sa pahayag naman ni Army’s 4th Infantry Division (ID) Spokesman Lt. Col. Eugenio Julio Osias IV, sinabi nito na walang nawawalang sundalo sa SF sa nasabing engkuwentro kung saan nakasamsam pa ang tropa ng pamahalaan ng mga backpack, subersibong dokumento at mga medisina.
