Mojdeh hakot ng 5 ginto sa Palaro

MANILA, Philippines — Magarbong tinapos ni Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Calabarzon Region ang kanyang kampanya matapos walisin ang lahat ng limang individual events nito sa 2024 Palarong Pambansa na ginaganap sa Cebu City.

Sa huling araw ng swim­ming competition, nasungkit ng two-time World Junior Championships ve­teran na si Mojdeh ang gintong medalya sa girls secondary 400m individual medley sa.

Nagrehistro ang 18-anyos Brent Interna­tional School-Manila standout ng impresibong limang minuto at 12.18 segundo sapat para ilampaso ang kanyang mga karibal sa naturang event.

Nauna nang nakahirit ng ginto si Mojdeh sa 200m butterfly event nang magtala ito ng bagong rekord na 2:19.72 para wasakin ang kanyang dating marka sa 2019 Palaro na 2:22.69.

Muli itong naglista ng bagong rekord sa 200m breaststroke tangan ang matikas na 2:41.75 para burahin ang 2:43.78 na da­ting marka ni Xiandi Chua.

Wagi rin si Mojdeh ng ginto sa 200m individual medley sa pamamagitan ng 2:26.68 at sa 100m butterfly event kung saan nagtala ito ng 1:03.82.

Samantala, kumana sina Francheska Dezzly Darvin at Bhenz Rudolf Owen Semilla ng Davao Region ng limang ginto sa Dancesport Competition.

Namayagpag ang Davao duo sa Junior Five Dance Standard, Junior Single Dance Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz at Foxtrot.

Umaasa ang Department of Education na dara­ting sa opening ceremony si Vice President at da­ting DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte sa Hulyo 16.

Nagsagawa ng ocular inspection ang grupo ni Duterte sa Cebu City Sports Complex (CCSC).

“As we all know, the Vice President’s protocol officer visited the site this morning for an inspection, and we are hopeful that Vice President-Secretary Sara will grace our closing ceremony,” ani DepEd Assistant Secretary Francis Cesar Bringas.

Inaasahang magpapatupad ng matinding seguridad ang Vice Presidential Security Group upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ni Duterte.

“I am confident that they are already coordina­ting with the Philippine National Police of Cebu City to ensure security measures are in place and that there are no security risks during the event,” ani Bringas.
