MANILA, Philippines — Tagumpay ang pagdaraos ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL) Rebuilding Champions Class ABC and Novice Meet Swim Series National Finals kahapon sa Diliman Preparatory School swimming pool sa Quezon City sa kabila ng masamang panahon.

Mahigit 300 tankers ang dumagsa sa venue sa pangunnguna nina Philippine national junior record holder Aishel Cid Eva­ngelista at Master Charles Janda na humakot ng gintong medalya.

Umarangkada si Eva­nge­lista matapos kumana ng dalawang gintong me­dalya sa boys’ 13-year division kung saan pinagharian nito ang 200m Individual Medley sa bilis na 2:19.00 at 50m butterfly sa oras na 29.74 segundo.

Hindi rin nagpahuli si Janda na sumikwat ng gintong medalya sa boys’ 14-year 50m butterfly matapos magtala ng 29.69 segundo at 200m IM sa bendisyon ng 2:28.60.

Naramdaman din ang puwersa nina Jamela Manocan at Nicole Kate Pardo na humirit ng gintong medalya sa kani-kaniyang kategorya.

Wagi ng ginto si Manocan sa girls’ 14-year 200m IM (2:51.00) habang namayani naman si Pardo sa girls’ 15-year 200m IM (2:53.38).

Maliban kina Evangelista, Janda, Manocan at Pardo, nakasungkit din ng gintong medalya sina Rica Jane Ansale sa girls’ 10-year 100m IM (1:29.89), Milena Santos sa girls’ 11-year 100m IM (1:28.19), Hannah Baguio sa girls’ 12-year 100m IM (1:19.62),  Sebastian Alinsunurin sa boys’ 12-year 100m IM (1:19.91) at Xyryll Eva­ngelista sa boys’ 8-under 100m IM (1:39.09).

“We are happy with the outcome of the competition despite the heavy rains. We want to thank all swimmers, coaches and parents who supported this edition of our shourt course series,” ani PSL President Alex Papa.
