May lakas na lumaban ngayon si Bejino

MANILA, Philippines — Dalawang araw na walang iskedyul si national para swimmer Gary Bejino, kaya inaasahang nakapagpahinga na siya para sa paglangoy sa men’s 400-meter freestyle-S6 event ng Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Lalaban si Bejino ngayong alas-8 ng umaga sa Tokyo Aquatic Centre para sa kanyang ikatlong event sa swimming competition.

“I think Gary is more relaxed now after getting his personal best time in the 50-meter butterfly event last Monday,” ani para swimming coach Tony Ong. “Hopefully, he will also make a good time in the 400-meter freestyle.”

Sasalang si Bejino sa lane No. 7 ng una sa dalawang heats kung saan ang top eight qualifiers ang papasok sa finals kinahapunan.

Nauna nang minalas ang 2018 Asian Para Games silver medalist na makaabante sa finals ng men’s 200m individual medley SM6 at 50m butterfly S6.

Samantala, nakatutok naman si wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan sa pagkarera sa men’s 100-meter-T52 race, ang kanyang final event, sa Japan National Stadium track oval.
