PSL tankers sasalang na sa Singapore swimfest

SINGAPORE -- Tatlong beterano sa malalaking kompetisyon ang siyang magbubukas ng kampan-ya sa delegasyon ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL) sa pagsismula ng 2015 Singapore Invitational Swimming Championship ngayon sa Singapore Island Country Club (SICC).

Ang gold medalist sa Royal Bangkok Swimming Championship na si Marc Bryan Dula, ang Most Outstanding Swimmer ng Indian Ocean All Stars Challenge na si Jasmine Mojdeh at Phuket Swim meet multi-gold medalist na si Aubrey Tom ang inaasahang maghahatid ng gold medals.

“The kids are all excited and ready to show their wares,” wika ni PSL president Susan Papa. “Hindi sila natatakot na harapin ang mas malalaking kalaban mabigyan lamang ng karangalan ang Pilipinas.”

Sa boys’ 8-9 200-meter  free style lalaro si Dula habang sina Mojdeh at Tom ay kakampanya sa girls 8-9 200m freestyle.

Ang iba pang sasalang sa aksyon ay sina Charize Esmero, Andrea Ybanez, Danica Alba, Jenny Ong at Judi Sgotier sa girls 12-13 200m freestyle gayundin sina Martin Jacob Pupos at Aron Romey sa boys’ 16-17 200m freestyle at sina Ferdinand Ian Trinidad at Marcus Faytaren sa boys’ 14-15 200m freestyle.

Maaari ring sandalan ang Male Swimmer of the Year na si Sean Terence Zamora sa boys’ 14-15 50m backstroke at pakay niyang wasakin ang record ni Joseph Schooling ng host Singapore na nanalo ng maraming medalya sa idinaos na SEA Games sa nasabing bansa kamakailan.

“Tinutukan namin nang husto si Zamora at naniniwala kaming makakaya niyang makapagtala ng bagong record,” dagdag ni Papa.

Ang iba pang lalangoy  ay sina PSA Milo Junior Athlete of the Year Kyla Soquilon, Isis Arnaldo, Hannah Nicole Ataza, Tricia Princillo at Maxine Dalmacio sa girls; 10-11 50m backstroke habang kakampan-cya rin sa girls’ 12-13 50m backstroke sina Esmero, Aalia Jaire Espejo, Sofia Estrada at Riandrea Chico.

Sina Jason Mirabueno (boys’ 16-17 50m backstroke), Joey Del Rosario at Lee Grant Cabral (boys’ 8-9 50m backstroke), Janelle Blanch at Samantha Lachica (girls’ 8-9 50m backstroke), at Mark Marajucom, Edward Princillo, Edgard Roberto, Vincent Samaniego at Jine Deligero (boys’ 12-13 200m freestyle) ang kukumpleto sa panlaban ng PSL.

Hanap ng delegasyon ang mapanatili sa Pilipinas sa ikatlong sunod na taon ang overall title sa kom-petisyon.
