Ginebra umaasa sa bagong coach, Si Frankie Lim na ba ang sagot?

MANILA, Philippines - Noong 2008 pa huling nakatikim ng korona ang Barangay Ginebra nang pagharian ang PBA Fiesta Conference katulong si seven-foot import Chris Alexander.

Ilang beses na rin silang nagpalit ng head coach para mahanapan ng solusyon ang kanilang pagkauhaw sa titulo.

Kahapon ay kinumpirma ni San Miguel Corporation big boss Ramon S. Ang ang paghirang kay assistant coach Frankie Lim bilang bagong mentor ng Gin Kings kapalit ni Ato Agustin.

Si Lim, naghatid sa San Beda Red Lions sa apat na kampeonato sa NCAA, ang pang-limang coach ng Ginebra sa nakaraang anim na komperensya.

Sa panayam ng GMA News Online, sinabi ni SMC head of basketball operations Robert Non na hangad nilang makakuha ng coach na maaaring tumapos sa kanilang seven-year championship drought.

“We try to find the right combination in the team, whether it’s the coaches or the players, or even down to the utility, just to get the right mix,” sabi ni Non.

Sa pagpasok ni Lim sa Ginebra ay dinala ng Gin Kings sina Dylan Ababou at Fil-Canadian guard James Forrester sa Barako Bull kapalit ng 2015 first round pick.

Labis naman itong ikinatuwa ni Energy coach Koy Banal. “They will give us outside arsenal and the stability on the defensive end. I know Dylan and James very well because they both played for me.”
