Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, lahat ng record mababasag

MANILA, Philippines – Wala nang mas lalaki pa sa labanang Manny Pacquiao at Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mula sa fight purse hanggang sa ticket, ang May 2 mega showdown nina Pacquiao at Mayweather ay hindi na mapapantayan pa.

“It’s gonna set all records – pay-per-view sales, pay-per-view revenue, tickets, gates revenue, foreign sales,” sabi ng promoter ni Pacquiao na si Bob Arum ng Top Rank. “Everything is gonna get blown away.”

Bago maitakda ang laban, may ideya na ang iba kung magkano ang kikitain nina Mayweather at Pacquiao.

Si Mayweather ay kikita ng $120 million (humigit-kumulang P5.32 billion), si Pacquiao ay $80 million.

Puwedeng mas malaki pa ang kanilang kiki-tain dahil hindi puwedeng sabihin kung magkano eksakto dahil sa IRS.

“There’s a confidentiality agreement in the contract,” sabi ng adviser ni Pacquiao na si Mike Koncz.  “We cannot and should not disclose the terms because stuff like that is contained in the confidentiality clause.” Siguradong mabe-break ang pay-per-view record na 2.5 million views para sa 2007 match nina Mayweather at Oscar dela Hoya na $100 per view. If they sell over three million.

Kung makakabenta ng 3-milyon ay $30 million ang kikitain at kalahati nito ay mapupunta sa cable providers (Showtime and HBO) at ang matitira ay paghahatian ng dalawang boxers.

Malamang na kumita si  Mayweather ng $150 million habang $100 million naman o higit pa si Pacquiao.

Sigurado namang tataas ang presyo ng ticket sa MGM Grand para sa  May 2 fight. Bagama’t hindi pa nagbebenta ng tickets, kinokonsidera na itong sold out.

May balitang aayusin ang MGM Grand na kakasya ang16,000 fans, para kumita ng $40 million sa live gate receipts na magiging record din.

Sinasabing ibebenta ang ringside seats ng $5,000 at walang ibebentang mas mababa pa sa P1,000. (AC)
