Japanese swimmer Asian Games MVP

MANILA, Philippines - Itinanghal si Japanese swimmer Kosuke Hagino  bilang  Most Valuable Player ng 17th Asian Games dahil sa kanyang pagdodomina sa pool events.

Ipinakita ng 20-gulang na estud-yante kung bakit siya ang ipinapalagay na maaaring sumunod sa yapak ni US swimmer Michael Phelps matapos manalo ng 7 medals kabilang ang apat na golds sa loob ng anim na araw na swimming competition.

Nanalo si Hagino sa 200 at 400 meters individual medleys, gayundin sa  200m freestyle at 4x200m freestyle relay. Naka-silver din siya sa s 400m freestyle at may bronze sa  100m at 200m backstroke.

“I’m honored to win this award,” ani Hagino. “I had no idea I could win this award at the beginning of the Asian Games.”

Sinamahan ni Hagino sina Kosuke Kitajima (1998) at Park Tae-hwan (2006) bilang mga swimmers na nanalo ng award na pinipili ng mga journalists na kumober ng Asian Games sa pamamagitan ng botohan.

Isa siya sa walong atletang pinagpi-lian ngunit siya ang pinakapaborito dahil siya ang may pinakamaraming gold.
