Baradas pumalit kay Navasero bilang PABA Chief

MANILA, Philippines - Matapos ang pagkamatay ni Hector Navasero, sinalo ni Ely Baradas ang trabaho bilang acting president ng Philippine Amateur Baseball Association (PABA).

Nakipag-usap kahapon si Baradas, ang PABA executive vice president at commissioner, kasama ang mga PABA officials kay PSC commissioner Jolly Gomez.

“Commissioner Gomez said as far as the Phi-lippine Sports Commission is concerned, they will recognize me as PABA president until an election is held,” wika ni Baradas.

Namatay si Navasero, ang PABA president ng higit sa 20 taon, nitong buwan dahil sa sakit sa puso.

Sinabi ni Baradas, suportado ng Philippine Olympic Committee, na ang una niyang gagawin ay ang ipatawag ang PABA board para sa pagtatakda ng eleksyon.

Ayon kay Baradas, gusto niyang maidaos agad  ang eleksyon para maipagpatuloy ang programa ng asosasyon.

“We can hold the election in November and hold a year-ending tournament in December,” ani Baradas. “We need to hold an election as soon as possible because it’s long been overdue.”
