ABAP makikibahagi sa 3 int’l tournaments

MANILA, Philippines - Tatlong malalaking international boxing tournaments ang nakalinya ngayong Setyembre para sa PLDT-ABAP National team bilang paghahanda sa AIBA World Championship sa Almaty, Kazakhstan sa susunod na buwan.

Nagtungo na kahapon sina Jason Daming (46kgs), Hipolito Banal Jr. (48kgs), Paul Gilbert Galagnao (52kgs) at Mike Angelo Plania (54kgs) sa Kiev, Ukraine para sumabak sa AIBA 15 & 16 World Juniors Championships kung saan nanalo ng gold medal si Eumir Felix Marcial sa light bantamweight class noong 2011 sa Astana, Kazakhstan.

Ang grupo ay sinamahan nina ABAP executive director Ed Picson at coaches Ronald Chavez at Romeo Brin.

Lalahok din ang ABAP sa Sydney Jackson Memorial Boxing Tournament sa Setyembre 11-17 sa Tashkent, Uzbekistan at isasabak sina Rogen Ladon (49kgs), Ian Clark Bautista (52kgs), Jonas Bacho (56kgs), James Palicte (60kgs) at reserves Roldan Bongcales Jr. (52kgs) at Junel Cantancio (60kgs).

Makakasama nila sina coaches Elmer Pamisa at Pat Gaspi. Inangkin ni Olympian Mark Anthony Barriga ang gold medal sa naturang torneo light flyweight division noong 2011 at 2012.

Matapos ito ay magpapadala naman ng mga atleta ang ABAP sa AIBA Women’s Youth and Junior Championships sa Set-yembre 20-29 sa Albena, Bulgaria.
