Asian Youth Boxing C’ships bubuksan ngayon sa Subic

SUBIC – Isang PLDT chopper na pagmamay-ari ni telecommunications tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan ang lilipad sakay si Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu, ang  presidente ng International Boxing Federation (AIBA), dito sa Zambales coastal town para sa 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships.

Darating ang nasabing AW-139 na 8-seat, twin-engine multi-purpose helicopter, sa Subic Bay Freeport sakay si Wu  na mangunguna sa opening ceremony ng boxing tournament para sa mga boksingerong may edad 17 hanggang 18-anyos.

Makakasama ni Wu sa seremonya sa Subic gym sina Asian Boxing Confederation president Gofur Rakhimov ng Uzbekistan at ASBC executive director Aziz Kozhambetov.

Matapos ang medical at general weigh-in sa Subic International Hotel, magsisimula ang official draw sa alas-10 ng umaga kung saan ang unang preliminaries ay bubuksan sa alas-2 ng hapon.

Nauna nang umatras sa kompetisyon ang Malaysia kasunod ang Pakistan, Syria at Singapore.

“It’s all systems go,” sabi ni ABAP president Ricky Vargas sa torneong suportado ng MVP Sports Foundation, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, PLDT, Smart, NLEX, Maynilad, Clarktel, Subictel, Department of Tourism, Tourism Promotions Board, Videogear Inc., Exile Lights and Sound, Philippine Olympic Committee at ng Philippine Sports Commission katulong ang  Sony Philippines, Coca-Cola Bottlers at Nestle Philippines.

Ang bansa ay babanderahan nina James Palicte (60 kgs), Jade Bornea (49 kgs.), Ian Clark Bautista (52 kgs), Jonas Bacho (56 kgs) at Eumir Felix Marcial (64 kgs).
