Around 40 companies joined the recent job fair organized by the Philippine Star Career Guide and overseas job portal workabroad.ph last June 14-15 iat the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall.

Aiza Mesina, account manager of Career Guide, said around 10 manpower agencies joined the event, looking for potential employees to be based in the Middle East.

"Other companies are looking for nurses and skilled workers, among others," she said.

More than being the usual job fair, the organizers also prepared various programs aimed at helping job-seeking Filipinos understand a vast array of topics related to employment.

"We had programs where speakers talked about resume writing, how to win your dream job and how to prevent illegal recruitment," she said.

To those who missed the event, workabroad.ph, one of the organizers of the job fair, called on job-seeking Filipinos to try their luck abroad, where demand for a plethora of jobs still remains high.
