Do you know that it was actually the Caparas couple, Donna Villa and direk Carlo J. Caparas, according to Annabelle Rama, Richard Gutierrez’ mom and concurrently, too, his talent manager, who saw the potential in Richard and his kakambal, Raymond, na posible silang maging important showbiz personalities?

Only about four years old ang kambal, when the couple featured them in their first venture as producers, Lahing Pikutin, starring Eric Quizon and Ruffa Gutierrez, who was only about 16 years old then.

It was in Golden Lions Films, ang production company ng mag-asawa, ginawang bida ang dalawa sa pelikulang Takbo, Bilis, Takbo, with Joey de Leon, yes, the now popular TV host-writer, Joey de Leon.

While pinili ni Richard na manatiling artista nang lumaki na sila, Raymond chose to focus on hosting at magkaroon ng isang restaurant.

Kaya ngayon, magkatrabahong muli sina Richard at direk Carlo J. Caparas, as he is the author of the iconic komiks novel, Ang Panday, which will soon be aired as a series on TV5, with Richard playing the title role.

Ang Panday has been adapted ng kung ilang beses ng nasirang Action King of Philippine Movies na si Fernando Poe, Jr. sa pelikula, na pawang naging blockbuster.

Blockbuster din ang ginawang version ni Senator Bong Revilla ng Ang Panday, which was shown as an entry in a Metro Manila Fiml Festival (MMFF) event.

Second time na mapapanood bilang series ang Ang Panday, since na-adapt na rin ito sa TV bilang teleserye, which Jericho Rosales topbilled.

‘‘I’m excited playing Ang Panday,’’ ani Richard. ‘‘I’m an avid fan of Tito Ronnie (FPJ). Kaya, halos lahat ng pelikula niya na Ang Panday ay napanood ko.’’

Featured bilang leading ladies ni Richard sa Ang Panday sina Bangs Garcia, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, at Sam Pinto.

Phil ‘di na pinag-usapan matapos maka-fling si Bangs

Speaking of Bangs, next year pa pala siya makikipag-isang dibdib sa kanyang Fil-Brit boyfriend na si Lloyd Birchmore. Mga more than a year na ang kanilang relasyon.

Bangs, we all know, was at one time ay na-link din kay Phil Younghusband member of the famous Azkals football team and, too, a Fil-Brit.

Pero, ‘di raw sila naging sweethearts, ayon kay Bangs, who by the way is also a regular of the top series, You’re My Home, on ABS-CBN.

Jasmine hindi pa rin nakakahanap ng kapalit ni Sam

Of Jasmine naman, ‘di pa siya nagkakaroon muli ng boyfriend, mula nang mapabalitang nag-break na sila ni Sam Concepcion.

Kung sabagay, ganundin si Sam, na nasa cast tulad ni Bangs, ng You’re My Home.

By the way, wonder kung ano kaya ang comment ni Sam sa pinag-uusapang controversy, involving Jasmine and the boyfriend ng kapatid niyang si Anne Curtis.
