Melencio wagi ng MOS sa PAI-Speedo Swim Series 2

MANILA, Philippines — Sumisid si Ricielle Maleeka Melencio ng kabuuang limang gintong medalya para pamunuan ang mga Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) awardees sa Philippine Aquatics, Inc. ‘Go Full Speedo’ Swim Series Leg 2 Championships kahapon sa Teofilo Yldefonso Swimming Pool sa Malate, Manila.

Sa huling araw ng kumpetisyon, nasungkiit ni Melencio ang gintong medalya sa girls 19-over 200-meter backstroke at 1,500-m freestyle para magarbong tapusin ang kampanya nito sa event na inorganisa ng PAI katuwang ang Philippine Sports Commission at Speedo.

Nauna nang namayagpag si Melencio sa 50-m butterfly, 200-m freestyle at 400-m freestyle sa unang araw ng bakbakan.

“I feel better than the last series regarding training leading to this competition. I’m more prepared now, my goal is to improve my performance and I’m doing better now and mentally ready,” ani Melencio.

Bigo si Melencio na mawalis ang anim na events nito matapos pumangatlo lamang sa 100-m back (1:13.70) sa likod ni Dianna Celyn Cruz ng Ilustre East Aquatic na siyang kumana ng ginto tangan ang 1:13.33.

Wagi rin ng MOS awards sina SEA Age Group campaigners Aishel Evangelista, Nicola Queen Diamante, Makoto Nakamura at Sophia Rose Garra.

Nanguna si Evangelista sa boys 14 yrs class matapos umani ng ginto sa 200m back (2:20.94), 100m breaststroke (1:12.91) at 200m free (2:02.40).

Namayagpag naman si Diamante sa girls 14 yrs 200m back (2:49.88), 100m back (1:17.94) at 50m butterfly (31.70) habang wagi si Nakamura sa girls 11yrs 100m breast (1:28.46), 400m free (5:07.25) at 200m freestyle (2:28.75).

Nakaginto naman si Garra sa 12yrs 400m free (4:51.25), 100m back (1:08.97), 200m back (2:29.74), 100m breast (1:21.75) at 200m free (2:18.16).
