MANILA, Philippines — Ang Chinese coach ni Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz ang tutulong kina national weightlifters Vanessa Sarno, Elreen Ando at John Ceniza sa paghahanda sa 2024 Paris Games.
Sinabi kahapon ni Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas (SWP) president Monico Puentevella na ipapadala niya sina Sarno, Ando at Ceniza sa Taipei kung saan naroon si coach Gao Kaiwen.
“Coach Gao is coaching in Taipei, I would like them to try training there for a month, waiting for the answer of Taipei baka tanggapin nila,” ani Puentevella sa PSA Forum sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Si Gao ang gumiya kay Diaz para mabuhat ang kauna-unahang Olympic gold medal ng Pilipinas.
“Personally, I want Gao because he understands Filipino character, he has been successful with Hidilyn and I have very high respect for him, he’s a world class coach,” dagdag ng SWP chief sa sports public program na inihahandog ng San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Smart/PLDT, MILO at 24/7 sports app na ArenaPlus.
