Coo minalas sa Olympic berth

MANILA, Philippines — Isa na namang Pinoy athlete ang nabigong makapagbulsa ng Olympic Games berth.

Hindi nakuha ni Fil-American BMX rider Patrick Coo ang inaasam na silya sa 2021 Olympics matapos pumuwesto sa No. 42 sa Stage 3, No. 45 sa Stage 4 at matalo sa Last Chance races sa Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) BMX Supercross World Cup sa Bogota, Colombia.

“I’m always proud to represent the Philippines in any competitions abroad, I’ll give it another shot,” wika ni Coo. “It’s been my dream and I hope to win a medal for the Philippines. I am proud to be a Filipino.”

Siya lamang ang tanging Pinoy at Asian na lumahok sa nasabing qualifier para sa 2021 Olympics na idaraos sa Hulyo 23 hanggang Agosto 8 sa Tokyo, Japan.

Ang 19-anyos na rider ang pumalit kay 2014 Asian Games gold medalist at London 2012 Olympian Daniel Caluag na wala sa kondisyon dahil sa pagiging medical frontliner (nurse) sa Kentucky, USA.
