Nationals mapapalaban na sa Koreans

MANILA, Philippines — Haharapin ng Philippine national team ang South Korea ngayong ala-1:30 ng hapon  sa pagbubukas ng International Cricket Council (ICC) World T20 East Asia Pacific Qualifier sa Emilio Aguinaldo College Friendship Oval sa Dasmariñas, Cavite.

“This is an exciting moment for Philippine cricket. We have matured and grown together as a group over the last few years and had some encouraging results in competition overseas. I think, we are ready to take the next step. We’ve trained hard for this tournament and want to do well in front of our home crowd,” sabi ni Philippine team captain Jonathan Hill.

Pagkatapos ng laban kontra sa mga Koreano, haharapin naman ng national team ang Japan bukas sa parehong oras at venue.

Bukod sa Pilipinas at South Korea, ang ibang bansa na kasali sa kumpetisyon ay ang Japan at Indonesia. Ang magwawagi ay aabante sa susunod na qualifier tournament sa Papua, New Guinea sa susunod na taon.

Kasama rin sa national team sina Fil-Australian Henry Tyler na isa ring top-order batsman mula sa Melbourne at baguhang si Grant Russ at si Daniel Smith  na isang fast bowler sa Sydney, Australia na naglalaro na rin sa Kent at Hampshire, England at si Daniel Smith. (FC)
