Lozada, Soguilon sumira ng record sa 2016 PSL national series

MANILA, Philippines – Naging matikas ang ratsada nina Aklan Swimming Team standouts Michael Gabriel Lozada at Kyla Soguilon matapos wasakin ang rekord sa kani-kanilang paboritong events kahapon sa 94th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series - 3rd Cong. Ted Haresco Jr. Swimming Cup and Open Water Competition na ginanap sa Aklan Provincial Sports Complex sa Makato, Aklan.

Binura ni Lozada ang tatlong dating rekord ni Robin Seranilla sa boys’ 9-year category na naitala noong 2013.

Tampok dito ang impresibong dalawang minuto at 57.53 segundo sa 200m Individual Medley upang ta­bunan ang lumang 3:05.72 na rekord.

Hindi nagpaawat si Lozada matapos kunin ang ginto sa 50m breaststroke tangan ang 44.43 segundo na siyang tumabon sa 44.47 na rekord gayundin sa 50m backstroke nang ilista nito ang 36.17 na bahagyang mas mabilis kumpara sa 37.19.

Bumanat naman ng dalawang rekord ang reigning Female Swimmer of the Year at 2016 Palarong Pamban­sa elementary girls Most Outstanding Swimmer awardee na si Soguilon sa girls’ 11-year event.

Nailista nito ang 40.28 segundo sa 50m breaststroke para daigin ang 40.81 ni Nirel Ibarra noong 2013 kasunod ang pamamayagpag sa 50m freestyle sa bisa ng 29.60 segundo na mas maganda kumpara sa 30.24 na rekord na kaniya ring pag-aari.

“Records were broken right here by Aklan swimmers and we are also happy that there are qualifiers from Baco­lod, Aklan and Capiz for the World Summer University Games,” pahayag ni PSL president Susan Papa.

Sumisid din ng gintong medalya sina Sean Terence Za­mora (boys’ 15-over 200m IM), Micaela Jasmine Moj­deh (girls’ 9-year 50m backstroke), Paula Carmela Cusing (girls’ 13-year 50m backstroke), Estelle Margaret Mendez (girls’ 7-year 50m backstroke), Trump Christian Luistro (boys’ 8-year 200m IM), Behrouz Mohammad Mojdeh (boys’ 6-under 50m butterfly) at Lucio Cuyong II (boys’ 12-year 50m breaststroke).

“We would like to thank the local government unit of Aklan especially Cong. Ted Harresco for allowing us to stage this swimming competition here in Aklan as well as the Aklan swimming team headed by Kokoy Soguilon for hosting the tournament,” dagdag ni Papa.

Ang iba pang gold medalists ay sina Lyssa Marie Ene­ro, Riandrea Chico, Alic Dela Cruz, Luis Ventura, Jo­hann Abogadie, Carl Adones, Mark Marajucom, Sidley Malumay, Atilla Pia Loy, Albert Sermonia II, Timothy Ber­nal, Thim Concon, Richelle Callera, Janelle Blanche, Allyssa Jizmundo, Master Janda, Jennuel De Leon, Maria Carbonell at Jason Mirabueno.
