Simula na ang aksyon sa PSL’s 89th National Series

MANILA, Philippines – Magtatagisan ang mahuhusay na tankers sa 89th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series-Mayor Romulo “Kid” Peña Swim Meet na idaraos ngayong umaga sa Makati Aquatic Sports Arena sa Makati City.

Ang torneo ay magsisilbing qualifying event para sa malalaking international competitions na lalahukan ng PSL kabilang na ang 2016 Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge sa Perth, Australia at ang prestihiyosong 2017 Summer World University Games sa New Taipei City, Taiwan.

“This event is open to all swimmers who want to qualify for international tournaments that we’ll be joi­ning this year and the World University Games next year. We are also thankful to Makati Mayor Kid Peña for making it possible for the PSL to conduct the first competition of the year in a long course competition,” pahayag ni PSL President Susan Papa.

Maliban sa Australia meet at Universiade, naka­tanggap din ang PSL ng imbitasyon na magpartisipa sa China, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Iran, India, Germany,  Brazil, United  States at Canada.

“We’ve received a lot of invitations to compete abroad and we want our young swimmers to experience competing internationally to further hone their skills. Sending them abroad is part of our program,” dagdag ni Papa.

Gagawaran ng me­dalya ang tatlong mangu­nguna sa bawat event habang bibigyan ng tropeo ang Most Outstanding Swimmer awardees sa event na itataguyod ng PSL sa pakikipagtulungan sa Makati local government at kay Academy of Holistic Garden coach Marlon Mendez.

Ang dalawang swimmers (isang babae at isang lalaki) na makakakuha ng pinakamataas na International Swimming Fede­ration (FINA) points ang siyang tatanggap ng Presidential Trophies at P1,500 insentibo.
