Mananalo sa semifinals match ng NCC idedeklarang co-champions

MANILA, Philippines – Sa kauna-unahang pag­kakataon, nagdesis­yon ang pamunuan ng National Collegiate Championship (NCC) na ideklarang co-champions ang magwawagi sa semifinals ng torneo na lalaruin nga­yong hapon sa The Arena sa San Juan City.

Nagpasya ang pamu­nuan ng liga na paiksiin na ang torneo upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga manlalaro at mga estudyanteng manonood sa mga laro.

“(We) decided to shor­ten the NCC competi­tions in consideration of safety and convenience of students and players. Therefore, the winners of today’s games will be declared  as co-champions of 2015 National Collegiate Championship and shall share the prize awards due them,” ayon sa statement ng liga.

Maghaharap sa u­nang Final Four match ang defending champions San Beda Red Lions at NCAA champions Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights habang magtutuos naman sa ikalawang laro ang UAAP titlists Far Eastern University Tamaraws at CESAFI winners University of San Carlos.

Umusad sa semis ang San Beda matapos payukuin ang Technological Institute of the Philippines, habang namayani naman ang USC laban sa University of Santo Tomas.

Kinansela kahapon ang mga laro sa NCC dahil sa bagyong Nona.

Ang Ateneo de Manila University ang may pina­kamaraming titulo sa NCC matapos magkampeon noong 2007, 2009 at 2010 habang may tig-dalawa naman ang FEU (2004 at 2005), University of the East (2003 at 2006) at De La Salle Uiversity (2008 at 2013).

May isa ang San Beda, UST (2012) at San Sebastian College (2011).
