MMA tourney pinalawig ng SAFC
MANILA, Philippines – Idaraos ng Southeast Asia Fighting Championship (SAFC) ang kanilang unang mixed martial arts meet sa Nobyembre 20-22 sa Venus Hotel and Sports Club sa Clark, Pampanga.
Imbes na regular na one-day event, pinalawig ito sa tatlong araw para sa pagsisimula ng serye kung saan ang championship fight ay nakatakda sa susunod na taon.
Lalabanan ni Rex De Lara ng MUMMA/Fight Factory si Francis Rod Romero ng Safehouse sa main match sa Nobyembre 20.
Kapwa dumalo sina De Lara at Romero kahapon sa Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum sa Shakey’s Malate kasama sina National Muaythai Kickboxing Council of the Philippines (NMKBCP) secretary-general Emmanuel Cabrera Jr. at president-promoter Master Emmanuel Sabrine.
“We’re introducing the tournament on Nov. 20 and from there, we’ll have our qualifying rounds. Every week yan, tuluy-tuloy na,” sabi ni Cabrera sa sesyon na inihahandog ng San Miguel Corp., Accel, Shakey’s at Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.
Ang lahat ng survivors sa weekly qualifiers ang maglalaban sa grand championship kung saan ang mananalo ang mabibigyan ng tsansang sumabak sa dual meet ng Pilipinas laban sa Korea.
Ang Fontana Apollon Korea Country Club, FA Korea C.C. Golf Course at mga Korean businessmen ay bahagi ng SAFC sa pakikipagtulungan sa Venus Hotel and Sports Club at NMKBCP.
“We expect the grand championship to take place by next year.”
