Prima Pasta event hahataw sa Feb. 28

MANILA, Philippines - Higit sa 1,500 partisipante sa buong bansa ang ina­asahang sasabak sa pang-walong edisyon ng Prima Pasta Badminton Championships na hahataw sa Pebrero 28, Marso 1, 6, 7 at 8 sa Powersmash Badminton Courts sa Pasong Tamo, Makati City.

Dahil sa patuloy na pagdami ng mga kalahok taun-taon, nagdesisyon si Prima Pasta Badminton Championship organizing committee chairman Alexander Lim na palawigin ang play dates.

“We are very happy to announce that we’re exten­ding the play dates because of the growing number of par­ticipants each year and every year the competition is becoming more competitive,” sabi ni Lim. “The national team is expected once again to be the team to beat.”

Sa pakikipagtulungan sa Philippine Badminton Asso­ciation (PBA), ang annual badminton tournament ay ba­hagi ng Philippine National Ranking System (PNRS) kung saan ang mga aspirante sa Open Division ay ma­kakakuha ng puntos na magiging basehan para sa ka­nilang posisyon sa national ranking.

Ang mga nakalatag na events sa torneo, itinataguyod ng Babolat at  SMART Communications sa pamamagitan ng MVP Sports Foundation, ay ang  Men’s Doubles at Mixed Doubles mula Open class hanggang sa Levels A-G, habang ang Open Class at Levels B-F ay nakalinya sa Women’s Doubles.

Ang event ay suportado rin ng Boysen Paints, Mor­ning Star Milling Corporation, Mabz Builders, ILO Construction, Monolith Construction, Monocrete Construction, Pioneer Insurance, Promax International, Re­gent Foods Corp., RFM Corp. at pinalakas ng Forthright Events.

Ilan sa mga top badminton stars na sasali ay sina Paul Vivas, Joper Escueta, Peter Gabriel Magnaye, at Ro­nel Estanislao.
