Marquez nais nang labanan si Pacman

MANILA, Philippines - Nagbago ng isip si Juan Manuel Marquez at ngayon ay payag nang muling harapin si Filipino world eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao sa pang-limang pagkakataon.

Sinabi ng kanyang promoter na si Fernando Beltran ng Zanfer Promotions na gustong labanan ng 40-anyos na si Marquez ang mananalo sa pagitan nina Pacquiao at World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight king Timothy Bradley, Jr. sa kanilang rematch sa Abril 12 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

“He wants the challenge of the Bradley-Pacquiao winner, he wants to make history of a fifth world title in five divisions,” sabi ni Beltran. “If Pacquiao wins he’ll have the belt, and Juan wants it.”

Pinabagsak ni Marquez si Pacquiao sa sixth round sa kanilang ikaapat na paghaharap noong Disyembre ng 2012.

Hangad ni Marquez, naghari sa featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight at super lightweight divisions, na maging kauna-unahang Mexican na nagkampeon sa limang magkakaibang weight classes.

Sa kanyang 20-year career, kumuha si Marquez ng kabuuang pitong world titles sa apat na weight classes para maging ikatlong Mexican boxer na naging four-division champion matapos sina Erik Morales at Jorge Arce.

Si Mexican great Julio Cesar Chavez ang unang three-division world champion ng Mexico.

Ngunit bago isipin ni Marquez na labanan ang mana­nalo sa pagitan nina Pacquiao at Bradley ay kailangan muna niyang talunin si dating WBO light welterweight titlist Mike Alvarado sa Mayo 17 sa The Forum sa Inglewood, California.
