MANILA, Philippines - Pinadapa ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at ng PhilHealth ang kanilang mga karibal para umabante sa semifinal round ng 1st UNTV Cup noÂong Linggo sa Treston College Gym sa Global City, Taguig.
Sumandig ang AFP, naglaro nang wala sina 6’4 center Jeffrey Quiambao at 6’3 Roland Pascual dahil sa injury, kina Winston Sergio at Wilfredo Casulla para sa kanilang 92-73 tagumpay laban sa Congress/LGU.
Tumapos si Sergio ng 27 points kasunod ang 25 ni Casulla para sa pagpasok ng AFP sa semifinals.
“We played minus two key players but we are determined and worked hard for this win. Hopefully, we can carry the momentum into the semifinals,†sabi ni coach Col. Alfredo Cayco.
Umiskor naman si Richard Dominic Hernandez ng 17 markers para tulungan ang PhilHealth sa 87-65 paggiba sa Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Nagdagdag naman sina Carlo Timothy Capati at Alfredo Tumamao Jr. ng 14 at 10 points, ayon sa pagkakasunod, habang humakot si Alex Noriega ng 16 rebounds.
Magsisimula ang Final Four sa Oktubre 6 kung saan lalabanan ng PhilHealth ang No. 1 Philippine National Police (PNP) at tatapatan ng AFP ang No. 2 seed Judiciary.
Kapwa bitbit ng PNP at Jucidiary ang twice-to-beat advantage.
