Donaire, Darchinyan handa na sa press conference

MANILA, Philippines - Muling nagkrus ang mga landas nina dating unified world super bantamweight champion Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire, Jr at Vic Darchinyan ng Armenia.

Nagkita sina Donaire at Darchinyan kahapon para sa kanilang press confe­rence na nakatakda ngayon sa American Bank Center sa Corpus Christi, Texas.

Makakasama nina Donaire at Darchinyan sa press conference sina Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions at dating world heavyweight champion George Foreman.

Pormal na ihahayag ni Arum ang rematch nina Donaire at Darchinyan sa Nobyembre 9 sa American Bank Center.

Nagkasundo sina Do­naire (31-2-0, 20 KOs) at Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KOs) na magharap sa isang 10-round, non-title featherweight fight. Ito ang unang pagkaka­taon na lalaban ang 30-an­yos na si Donaire sa featherweight division matapos kumampanya sa flyweight, bantamweight at super bantamweight classes.

Nanggaling ang tubong Talibon, Bohol sa isang unanimous decision loss kay Guillermo Rigondeaux ng Cuba sa kanilang unification super bantamweight bout noong Abril 13 sa New York City.

Bago matalo kay Rigondeaux ay binigo muna ni Donaire noong 2012 sina Wilfredo, Vasquez Jr., Jeffrey Mathebula, Toshiaki Nishioka at Jorge Arce para hirangin bilang 2012 Boxer of the Year.

Pinatulog ni Donaire si Darchinyan sa fifth round para agawin sa huli ang mga suot nitong International Boxing Federation at International Boxing Organization flyweight titles noong Hulyo ng 2007.
