Donaire ‘di uurungan kahit sino ang kalaban

MANILA, Philippines -  Isa lamang kina Guil­ler­mo Rigondeaux ng Cuba at Abner Mares ng Mexico ang maaaring sagupain ni unified world super ban­tamweight champion Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire, Jr. sa 2013.

Ayon kay Robert Garcia, ang chief trainer ng 30-anyos na si Donaire (31-1-0, 20 KOs), handang harapin ng tubong Talibon, Bohol ang sinuman sa 32-anyos na si Rigondeaux (11-0, 8 KOs) at 27-anyos na si Mares (25-0-1, 13 KOs) sa susunod na taon.

“I think Mares deserves the fight. Rigondeaux is out there too,” sabi ni Garcia. “Donaire is willing to face all of those guys.”

Patuloy na hinahawa­kan ni Donaire ang WBO at  IBF super bantamweight titles, samantalang suot naman ni Rigondeaux ang WBA belt at bitbit ni Mares ang WBC crown.

Sinabi ni Garcia na ta­nging sina manager Ca­meron Dunkin at Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions ang makakapagdesisyon kung sino kina Rigondeaux at Mares ang sasagupain ni Donaire.

“I leave that up to Ca­meron and Top Rank (Pro­motions). They pick the fights and I get him (Donaire) ready for those fights,” wika ni Garcia.

Apat na panalo ang kinuha ni Donaire nga­yong 2012 para palakasin ang kanyang pag-asang makilala bilang 2012 Figh­ter of the Year.

Ang mga binigo ni Do­­naire ay sina Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. (split decision) ng Puerto Rico, Jeffrey Ma­thebula (unanimous decision) ng South Africa, Toshiaki Nishioka (ninth-round TKO) ng Japan at Jorge Arce (third-round KO) ng Mexico.

Dumating noong naka­raang linggo sa Pilipinas si Donaire, nakabase sa San Leandro, California, para magbakasyon.

At kasama dito ang pag­bisita niya kay Pangu­long Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III sa Malacañang para sa isang courtesy call noong nakaraang linggo.
