P13.6 million shabu seized in Consolacion, Cebu
MANILA, Philippines — Two kilos of shabu, valued at P13.6 million, were seized from a high-value suspect in the illegal drug trade in Consolacion town in Cebu on Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Roy Parena, Central Visayas region police director, said the illegal drugs were seized from a 46-year-old man, whom he did not identify, during a sting operation in Barangay Pulpogan.
Apart from shabu, police recovered a .9mm KG5 sub-machine gun from the suspect.
“A significant amount of illegal drugs and a dangerous weapon have been successfully removed from our streets, preventing their potential use in further crimes,” Parena said in a statement.
Cases of drug trafficking as well as illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition were filed against the suspect, who is detained at the town police station’s detention cell.
Meanwhile, two street-level pushers were arrested in a sting in Binangonan, Rizal on Thursday.
The operation led to the confiscation of P34,000 worth of shabu and the arrest of suspects alias Bart and alias Edilson, the Calabarzon police said.
