P500-M halaga ng smuggled goods nasabat

MANILA, Philippines - Tinatayang aabot sa  P500 milyong halaga ng mga smuggled cell phones, unregistered health products, computers, cameras , mamahaling bags at damit ang  nasabat  sa Manila International Container Port (MICP) ng mga tauhan ng  Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Pinangunahan ni Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon  ang inspeksiyon sa may tatlong  40-footer container van mula China na misdeclared ng consignee nitong  Tumbler Enterprises upang makaiwas sa pagbabayad ng  buwis.

Ayon kay Biazon, ang nasabing kargamento ay nasabat ng mga operatiba ng BOC-Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) matapos ang surveillance operations.

“These seizures are definitely a big boost to the local market, especially for the distributors of high-end international brand products as this will enhance investor confidence for them in the country,” ani Biazon.

Sinabi ni Biazon naiwasan naman na  malugi ang mga lehitimong importer.
