SHAABAA Inter-Alumni Games unfurls today
CEBU, Philippines — The first ever Inter-Alumni Invitational Games organized by the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) as a side event of its 27th season gets underway this afternoon (Sunday, July 7) at the Benedicto College Gym along A.S. Fortuna in Mandaue City.
Four teams, including two from host SHAABAA, will be seeing action in the tournament.
The Magis team and the Eagles squad will carry the fight for SHAABAA against alumni players from the Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) and University of San Carlos (USC)-North Campus.
In today’s knockout matches, the SHAABAA Eagles will go up against the Bosconians led by hardcourt star turned public servant Dondon Hontiveros in the 2 p.m. opener, while the SHAABAA Magis will take on the Carolinians in the main game at 3:30 p.m.
The winners will proceed to the winner-take-all championship slated on July 14. The losers will battle for third place. – EBV
