DOTr: 1st cable car project ng Pinas, posible sa 2028

MANILA, Philippines — Kumpiyansa ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) na ang kauna-unahang cable car system, na tinatawag na Antipolo Cable Car Project ay masisimulan sa 2028.

Sa idinaos na Build Better More Infrastructure forum sa New Clark City, sinabi ni DOTr Undersecretary for Planning and Project Development Timothy John R. Batan na ang cable car project ay kokonekta sa Taytay station ng MRT-4 sa Antipolo City.

“We know that Antipolo is very dense, and has lots of residents and economic activity, so it will be complementary to connect MRT-4 to Antipolo City,” ayon kay Usec. Batan.

Ang Asian Development Bank ang nagpondo sa pre-feasibility study ng cable car project, na natapos nitong unang bahagi ng taon.

Ang detalyadong feasibility study, na tutukoy sa project cost at passenger capacity nito, ay inaasahang masisimulan sa 2025 habang ang project bidding ay magaganap sa 2026.

Posible umanong abutin ng dalawang taon ang konstruksiyon ng proyekto.

“It’s our first cable car project, we were told that it will take up to 2 years of construction. If we see able award the contract in 2026, it is possible to [be operational] in 2028,” aniya pa.
