MANILA, Philippines — Nahuli na ang nagtatagong expelled lawmaker na si Arnolfo Teves Jr. matapos dakipin ng mga otoridad sa bansang Timor-Leste nitong Huwebes.
Sa isang paskil ng Polícia Científica e de Investigação Criminal kahapon sinabing nahuli ng kapulisan si Teves bandang 4 p.m. batay sa mungkahi ng Interpol o International Police.

"An Interpol 'Red Notic' is an alert for law enforcement around the world to locate and temporarily arrest a person pending extradition, extradition or similar legal action," sabi ng PCIC sa wikang Portuges kahapon.
"It is based on an arrest warrant or a court order issued by the judicial authorities of the requesting country."
Naaresto si Teves, na humaharap sa multiple murder charges kaugnay ng pagkamatay ni Negros Oriental Gov Roel Degamo at limang iba pa, habang naglalaro sa Top Golf Driving Range and Bar sa Lungsod ng Dili.
Naging posible ang pag-aresto sa pamamagitan ng pakikipagtulungan ng Interpol National Central Bureau sa Dili at East Timorese Police.
"Today’s apprehension of Teves is a testament to the power of international cooperation," sabi kahapon ni Department of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla.
"It sends a clear message that no terrorist can evade justice and that nations stand united in safeguarding the safety and security of their citizens."
Hawak na ng Timorese police si Teves habang inaasikaso ng NCB-Dili ang kanyang extradition sa Pilipinas sa pakikipagtulungan ng NCB-Manila at Dili Philippine Embassy.
Matatandaang idinkelarang "terorista" si Teves at 12 iba pa ng Anti-Terrorism Council dahil sa "serye ng pagpatay at pangha-harass sa mga residente ng Negros Oriental."
"The capture of Teves only proves that through concerted efforts and determination, terrorism can be thwarted and peace preserved," dagdag pa ni Remulla.
"Face your long-delayed trial without setting any conditions, face the courts squarely... Rest assured that the DOJ remains committed to providing regular updates on Teves’ return to the Philippines."
