289 barangay officials na nasa ‘narco list’ papangalanan ng PDEA

MANILA, Philippines — Papangalanan ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ang halos nasa 300 barangay officials na nasa kanilang “narco list” sa Eastern Visayas.

Sinabi ni PDEA chief Aaron Aquino na kailangan isiwalat ang pangalan ng mga kapitan at kagawad ng barangay lalo na’t nalalapit na ang eleksyon.

“We have to publish their names so that if they are candidates now for the upcoming SK and barangay elections, hindi sila iboto,” pahayag ng hepe ng PDEA.

“Actually they are there to help the government campaign in the anti-illegal drugs pero wala eh, they are into illegal drugs by way of trading, using and protectors, so what shall we do – the people and the constituents should know they are not worthy to be voted anymore,” dagdag niya.

Sinabi ni Aquino na naipadala na ang listahan na naglalaman ng 289 na opisyal ng barangay sa Office of the President.

Samantala, sinuportahan naman ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang plano ng Department of the Interior and Local Governmnent (DILG) na magsampa ng kasong administratibo laban sa nasa 31,000 opisyal ng barangay na hindi nagsagawa ng anti-illegal drugs councils.

Walang problemang nakikita si Comelec spokesman James Jimenez kung makakasuhan ang mga opisyal ng barangay na hindi nagtatag ng Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs).

Nakatakdang gawin ang barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan polls sa Mayo 14.
