Marami pang isinasangkot na 'media' sa pork scam – De Lima

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi lamang sina broadcast journalist Erwin Tulfo at Carmelo "Melo" del Prado Magdurulang ang nakinabang sa pork scam base sa salaysay ng mga bagong whistleblowers na sina dating National Agribusiness Corporation (Nabcor) officials Rhodora Mendoza at Victor Roman Cacal.

Sinabi ni Justice Secretary Leila de Lima na may iba pang nabanggit sina Mendoza at Cacal na nakatanggap ng pondo mula sa mga mamamahayag.

"Actually, hindi lang yung dalawa na nabanggit na," pahayag ni De Lima kagabi kasunod ng closed-door meeting nila ng mga whistleblowers.

"Wala silang sinabi how many we are talking about but they said there are others, other than the two and these are media consultants with respect to certain projects," dagdag niya.

Pumutok ang balitang nakatanggap ng P245,535 sina Tulfo at Del Prado bilang advertising expenses mula sa Department of Agriculture (DA).

Sinab ng kalihim na kaduda-duda ang gastos dahil hindi nasunod ang tamang proseso.

"They said there was no bidding. That is supposed to be the subject of the bidding. This does not fall under the bidding exception and I think there was a memorandum of agreement but there are other requirements not complied with," banggit ni De Lima batay sa mga pahayag ng dating opisyal ng Nabcor.

Pero hindi naman matiyak nina Mendoza at Cacal kung para sa advertising projects o consultancy ang perang ibinigay sa mga mamamahayag.

Kahit naidawit ang pangalan nina Tulfo at Del Prado ay sinabi ni De Lima na wala sa sinumpaang salaysay nina Mendoza at Cacal ang media payoffs.

Ang Nabcor ang sinasabing isa sa mga implementing agencies na naglalabas ng pera para sa pork barrel scam na pinangunahan umano ng negosyanteng si Janet Lim-Napoles.
