Hindi man kinoronahang Miss Earth 2025 si Joy Barcoma, trending naman siya sa ipinakitang kahusayan sa ginanap coronation ng Miss Earth noong isang gabi.
Hanggang Top 8 lang si Joy at kinoronahang 2025 Miss Earth si Natalie Puskinova ng Czech Republic.
Isang nagpa-trending kay Miss Earth Philippines candidate Joy Barcoma ay ang kanyang sagot tungkol sa responsibilidad sa kapaligiran at empathy para sa mga biktima ng bagyo na naging viral kasunod ng Q&A segment ng pageant.
Kaya naman may mga nagkomento na “na-overextend” niya ang kanyang airtime at naging “off-script” sa kanyang speech. Kumento pa ng iba, may “tamang oras at lugar” para sa mga naturang pahayag niya.
Pero sumagot si Joy ng : “What do you mean by proper place and time? It is Miss Earth, Cris. There is no more appropriate venue to talk about the typhoon that took more than a hundred lives, displaced hundreds, and devastated thousands of Filipinos if not today because it just happened.”
Sinabi nga niya sa Q & A na : “No one is above the law. ? And we hope that everyone can hear this message, every decision that our politicians are making, every policy that our government officials are passing for our people, affects the lives of everybody. Social justice, environmental justice is also human justice. And so we must make sure that every law we pass is a right for every person on Earth,”
