Bagong childhaus bukas na uli!

Guess, Salve A., who was at the inauguration and blessing of the newly refurnished Childhaus on Mapang-akit Street in Quezon City?

Like the Childhaus on Agoncillo Street, Paco, Manila, stargically located ilang hakbang lang sa PGH (Philippine General Hospital), this new Childhaus sa QC, will also serve as shelter sa mga batang may sakit na cancer, na mostly are from the provinces and belongs sa mahihirap sa pamilya.

They are treated sa PGH for free, na obviously siya ring magaganap sa mga batang patient sa newly renovated Childhaus sa Mapang-akit Street, who are needing and taking treatment sa nearby hospitals, Philippine Heart Center, East Avenue Medical Center, Philippine Children’s Medical Center and the National Children’s Hospital.

Now sa blessing event ng Childhaus on Mapang-akit Street, dumating si McCoy de Leon, dala-dala ang ilang kahon na may lamang fried chicken diumano’y binili niya sa isang kilalang food chain. Para sa mga bata raw na may cancer, aniya.

McCoy was later joined by the beauty queens, proclaimed and crowned sa katatapos na Miss Earth Philippines, including the newly-crowned Miss Earth Philippines herself from Pasig City, Janelle Lazo Tee, dating tagabigay ng jacket sa programang Wowowin ni Willie Revillame, but later became his co-host.

“I learned a lot about discipline From Kuya Willie,” ani Janelle.

At the said blessing too, were Hans Sy, na siyang nag-donate both ng seven storey Childhaus building sa Agoncillo Street at heto bagong bukas na Childhaus sa Quezon City.

Ricky Reyes naman, yes the kilalang beauty guru and philantropist, ang siyang namamahala ng dalawang Childhaus.

Labis-labis daw ang kasiyahan at pasasalamat sa Diyos ni Ricky dahil ‘di man siya directly humihingi ng tulong para sa expenses (on food, electricity, tubig, etc.), maraming volunteer workers naman na basta na lang dumarating to help.

Samantala, another event held on the same day was the EDDYS (Entertainment Editors Choice) of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors, Inc. (SPEED Inc.), na ang incumbent President ay si Ian Fariñas, Entertainment Editor ng kilalang tabloid na Peoples Journal.

SPEED is an organization that has as members of the entertainment editors of the national broadsheets and top tabloids in the country.

It was organized two years ago, na ang tumayong President for two years ng organization ay si Isah Red.

Isah is now a Council of Founding Members of SPEED. He is with the Daily Tribune.

Showbiz icons nagsama-sama sa The Eddys

Nearly a week after The Eddys, many among those who attended the event at the New Frontier Theater still talk about it. One of whom is newly re-elected Senator Bong Revilla, who came with his wife, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado.

So far, For Senator Bong, isa sa maituring na pinakamagandang award presentation ang katatapos lang na Eddys. Manghihinayang ka raw na kung halimbawang nanalo ka ng award, tapos ay hindi ka present to receive your trophy.

Unfortunately nga, walang project si Senator Bong na nakasali sa The Eddys Award this year. But next year daw, he is keeping his fingers crossed na he will have an entry.

Marami ang na-touched sa pagdalo ng ilang hanggang ngayon ay mga kilala pang showbiz icons.

Halimbawa, ang guwapo pa rin daw pala ni Eddie Gutierrez, who revealed na pumasok siya sa showbiz in 1959, via the movie Handsome which had the late Jose Mari playing the title role.

He played a number of lead roles, too, in many Sampaguita Pictures movies.

Eddie considers his biggest achievement is having children na pawang sumikat din sa larangang hanggang ngayon kung saan maituturing pa rin siyang aktibo.

There is Tonton Gutierrez, whose Mom is Liza Lorena. Ramon Christopher, na ang ina ay si Pilita Corrales.

And, of course, Ruffa and Raymond Gutierrez, na pareho niyang anak kay Annabelle Rama.
