Pia bibida sa fashion week sa Thailand!

Dadamitan ng sikat na Pinoy designer

Nagho-host pa lang ng The Buzz si Ruffa Gutierrez ay kilala ko na ang international fashion designer na si Oliver Tolentino dahil paborito rin niyang bihisan ang unica hija ng mag-asawang Eddie Gutierrez at Annabelle Rama.

Kapag nasa Los Angeles, California ako ay madalas ding mag-imbita si Oliver na kumain sa kung saan-saan.

In fairness to Oliver, kahit maraming Hollywood celebrities na ang binibihisan niya, palagi pa rin siyang may panahon sa mga kakilala niyang Pinoy at bumibisita sa L.A.

Bongga rin siya dahil kung noong una ay sa Melrose Place sa West Hollywood ang boutique niya, ngayon naman ay nasa South Robertson Blvd. sa Beverly Hills na ang puwesto niya.

Kahapon, pinadalhan ako ng press release ng namamahala sa Hollywood ng publicity and promotions ni Oliver at gusto ko itong i-share sa PangMasa readers.

“Fashion designer Oliver Tolentino has been invited to represent the Philippines at the 1st Thai Silk International Fashion Week in Bangkok. Oliver will join about thirty designers from around the world whom the kingdom has invited to present collections at their inaugural silk fashion week to be held in CentralWorld.

“Thailand is flying in former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach to walk exclusively for Oliver’s show. Thailand is hosting 30 other beauty queens -- one from each designer’s country -- but Pia will be the only former Miss Universe.

“Additionally, for the kick-off gala event Oliver will create a gown for the Philippine Ambassador to Thailand to walk a runway alongside about 25 other ambassadors. Her excellency Mary Jo A Bernardo-Aragon will walk and then escort Oliver down the runway in front of 1,000 attendees, including Thai royals, cabinet secretaries, businessmen and women, and diplomats.

“The following day, on Sunday, December 2nd at 6:00 pm, Oliver will present a 45-piece collection, including 18 pieces made from Thai silk provided by the Queen Mother’s factory. Oliver also will present piña pieces to the Thai people. The general public is invited to watch the show from the second level in CentralWorld’s Eden Zone.”

Ay, ang bongga ni Oliver, siyempre, pati na rin si Pia, huh!

Christmas album ni Jose Mari kauna-unahang nakalampas sa Diamond status!

Ngayong umaga naman haharap sa entertainment press si Jose Mari Chan para sa pre-Christmas show niya sa December 22 sa The Theater ng Solaire, ang Going Home to Christmas.

Hindi lang makakatsikahan ng entertainment press si Jose Mari dahil kakantahan pa niya ito ng kanyang famous Christmas songs.

Actually, noong pumasok ang September, palagi na nating naririnig na tinutugtog ang Christmas songs ni Jose Mari dahil talaga namang uso siya sa ganitong panahon, huh!

Sino ba ang hindi nakakaalam sa Christmas in our Hearts and A Perfect Christmas? Sabi nga, these songs are playlist staples and are guaranteed to make us feel the Filipino holiday spirit upon listening to the first few bars.

Pero siyempre, hindi lang naman sikat sa Christmas songs si Jose Mari dahil siya rin ang nagpasikat ng mga kantang katulad ng Beautiful Girl, My Girl, My Woman, My Friend, Please Be Careful with My Heart and a whole lot more.

Belong daw ito sa very first Christmas album ni Jose Mari na released back in 1990, titled Christmas in Our Hearts which features original singles and several renditions of his favorite Yuletide carols.

Sabi pa nga, the album is considered the very first OPM album to surpass Diamond status and by 2006, the album was certified Double Diamond by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI). With the songs’ recurring popularity during the yearly holiday season, almost 30 years since its release it is still considered one of the biggest selling albums in the Phi­lippines.
