For a change, Gerald Anderson will be spending Christmas minus a special someone.

Alam naman ng lahat, after all, that early this year, he and Maja Salvador broke up. But they have remained friends, though, he revealed.

Friends na rin daw sila ni Kim Chiu, na for a time ay naging kanyang special someone rin before Maja.

Baka raw sa GenSan (General Santos) City siya mag-Pasko at mag-New Year, with his Mom, who is now 69 years old.

‘‘Gusto kong makapiling at maalagaan siya, ngayong nagkakaedad na siya,’’ Gerald said of his Mom.

Though still every inch the matinee idol, na hanggang ngayon ay hinahangaan pa rin, mas type raw ngayon ni Gerald ang gumawa ng pangalan bilang actor. Yes, in the true sense of the word.

At ito’y somehow ay magkakaroon ng katu­paran in his role as a man with neurological movement disorder X-linked Dystonia Parkinsonism (XDP), or also known as Lubag Syndrome, sa episode ngayong gabi ng Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK).

Studies, Gerald, in an interview said, XDP commonly affects Filipino male adults that manifests symptoms, tulad ng pagkautal, hirap sa paglakad, at pagsulat, at inboluntaryong paggalaw ng kalamnan sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng katawan.

‘‘Kuwento ito ni Bert, isang elementary school teacher, na simple lang ang pangarap. Ang mapaglingkuran ang kanyang mga magulang at maging magandang ehemplo sa kanyang mga estudyante,’’ pahayag pa ni Gerald.

Directed by Nuel Naval, from a script by Benson Logronio, this particular MMK episode also stars Snooky Serna, Raikko Mateo, and Kyle Banzon, among others.

Direk Wenn pang-fifth na ang Bestie kay Vice

Mukhang may bago ngang pag-ibig si Vice Ganda.

And guess who mismo ang nagbuko tungkol sa ‘‘sikretong’’ ito ni Vice Ganda?

One of his best friends, Coco Martin, that’s who.

Best friends Vice and Coco are together in the movie Beauty and the Bestie, one of Star Cinema’s two entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). The other one is All You Need Is Pag-ibig, starring naman Vice’s other best friend, Kris Aquino.

Directed by Wenn Deramas, Beauty and the Bestie, is direk Wenn’s fifth movie na idinirek for Vice, na pang-MMFF entry.

‘‘At awa naman ng Diyos,’’ direk Wenn muttered, ‘‘pawang top grosser.’’

Does this mean, Beauty and the Bestie, will again become a top grosser?

‘‘Thy will be done,’’ seryosong sagot ni direk Wenn. And he added: ‘‘Basta ang alam ko, Beauty and the Bestie will offer moviegoers non-stop fun and laughter.

‘‘Which is what Christmas means, ‘di ba?

‘‘And, besides, ang tindi ng cast ng pelikula,’’ susog pa ni direk Wenn. ‘‘Bukod kina Vice at Coco, tampok din ang love team nina James Reid at Nadine Lustre. Plus child superstars Marco Masa at Alonzo Muhlach.

Piolo ka-love triangle na nina Kim at Xian

Guess who’ll also play leading man to Kim Chiu, aside from perennial ka-love team, Xian Lim, with whom he is currently taping, the new series Story of Us?

She and Xian are also with Kris Aquino, Derek Ramsay, Jodi Sta. Maria, in the MMFF entry, All You Need Is Pag-Ibig, directed by Antoinette Jadaone.

Wala pang katiyakan kung ano’ng kuwento magkakaroon ang first full-length project nila together ni Piolo. Basta ang alam daw ni Kim, pelikula ito.

Matatandaang in Etiquette for Mistresses, where Kim played kerida to a married man, portrayed by Zoren Legaspi, she ended up marrying Piolo.
