Gretchen binitbit ang trophy ng Best Supporting Actress pa-London

Speaking of the recent PMPC Star Awards for Movies, tatlong pareha ang nag-tie for three important awards: Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz for best actor; Bimby Yap and Miguel “Miggs” Cuaderno for best child performer and Gretchen Barretto and Sylvia Sanchez para naman sa best supporting actress.

Piolo of course, received his trophy for his movie, Starting Over Again and John Lloyd naman sa pelikulang The Trial.

Nanalo naman si Bimby para sa pelikulang The Amazing Praybet Benjamin and Miguel Cuaderno for Asintado. Sina Gretchen at Sylvia naman ay parehong sa pelikulang The Trial.

Bitbit ni Gretchen ang trophy for best supporting actress niya when she left for London yesterday, to visit her daughter, Dominique, who is studying fashion design in a university there.

She promises to do another movie soon when she comes back. Or even a series, she added.

Dingdong suwerteng kasama ang mga beterana

Makakasama ni Dingdong Dantes sa cast of the new series, Pare Koy ang three of local showbiz’ most respected actresses na sina Luz Valdez, Dexter Doria, at Chanda Romero.

They are three of Direk Maryo J. delos Reyes’, who directs Pare Koy, favorite talents.

Direk Maryo, who reportedly originally wanted to become a priest, na in fact ay isang seminarian before he joined showbiz, is awarded by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) ng recent PMPC Star Awards for Movies ng Lifetime Achivement Award.

Though still busy with their well-followed and high rating series, Forevermore, Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano have already started shooting, too, for their first lead roles together, The Bet.

Both would not say, though, kung ano ang kanilang role sa The Bet. Except that ‘‘bet you’’ raw, it is as interesting as the roles na kanilang ginagampanan sa Forevermore. Or even more, Enrique said, na may kindat pa.

All of us will remember, that the two first appeared together sa pelikula nina Dingdong Dantes at Bea Alonzo na She’s the One.

That early, ayon kay Enrique, determinado raw siya to have Liza for a leading lady in whatever project magkaroon siyang muli mapa-pelikula man o series.

‘‘Kaya, parang answered prayer when the powers behind Forevermore, offered me the series and told me si Liza ang makakapareha ko,’’ ani Enrique.

‘‘Same here,’’ ani naman ni Liza. ‘‘I’m glad that for my first big break sa showbiz, si Enrique ang kapareha ko.’’

Asked if kung nanliligaw na si Enrique sa kanya, ang kanyang maiksing sagot: ‘‘’Di pa. Alam niya kasing 17 lang ako.’’

James at Nadine tuluy-tuloy ang trabaho

Now that James Reid at Nadine Lustre are finished filming their soon-to-be released flick, Hopelessly Romantic, they are working on their first full-length teleserye together na On the Wings of Love, which ABS-CBN will produce.

As we all know, both are under contract to Viva Films for films.

Thus ang Hopelessly Romantic ay co-produced ng Viva Films at Star Cinema. Makakasama nila sa pelikula, which has Direk Chris Martinez at the helm, sina Iñigo Pascual at Julia Barretto.
