Direktor ng #Y sinuyod ang mga network!
Ang direktor ng soon-to-be released #Y na si Gino M. Santos, is almost the age of his stars in the cast, who include Elmo Magalona, Sophie Albert, Kit Thompson, Slater Young, Chynna Ortaleza, and Coleen Garcia.
Most of them may be in their early 20s lang except siguro kay Slater who emerged champ in a previous edition of the reality show, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), and Chynna, who has long been in the business as a GMA-7 talent.
Slater is a graduate na of engineering, before he joined the PBB. Nagtrabaho rin daw siya for a time in his father’s own construction business.
Na-link din siya for a short time with Rachelle Ann Go, before the latter left for London para sa stint niya as Gigi in Miss Saigon.
“That’s why,” anang isang connected sa production na nag-produce ng #Y, ‘di lang naka-relate nang husto si Direk Gino sa kanyang cast, kundi he felt automatically at home with them.
“Actually,” sabad ni Direk Gino, who based his film, he said, on a script written by Jeff Stelton, “we really had in mind the current generation, when we thought of filming #Y.
“Specifically, the film,” paliwanag further ni Direk Gino, “chronicles the adventures of a generation, na influenced masyado, bale ba, na unified din ng social media and the Internet. And of course, the common ideological lifestyle na recently ay in-adapt and practiced by most young people today.
“Yes, ‘yong kasabihang YOLO. Or you only live once.”
How Direk Gino was able to gather all the stars in the cast, as they all belong to different networks ay may kuwento rin daw.
“I went or sent a representative to talk to the ‘power’ behind the company where each star belong to.
Halimbawa, ani Direk Gino. “Si Elmo, contract star siya ng GMA-7.
“Lucky me, as I not only had a fond time talking with his mom (Pia Magalona). She helped me talked to the “powers” behind GMA-7, too.
In #Y, Elmo who plays the main character Miles, is supposedly a rich kid. Why he seriously contemplated suicide is the main point of this story.
To be released by Star Cinema, #Y magsisimula na itong mapanood sa mga sinehan sa December 10.
Tambalang Jim Carrey at Jeff Daniels patuloy pa ring nagpapatawa
Isa pang pelikula, which is a ‘must watched,’ so speak, ay ang Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels starrer, Dumb and Dumber, now showing sa mga sinehan nationwide.
It is actually a sequel to a movie of the said title and like its original, the film was again another smash hit in the U.S. with an earning of $38M.
Dumb and Dumber, ayon sa Viva Films, distributor ng movie, insiders offer non-stop jokes and gags, as its lead actors are seen na absolutely walang pagbabago, no mental growth, kumbaga. But the fact that they have each other, seem enough for them to get the through life.
Jennylyn babaeng-babae ang pakiramdam kapag kasama si Derek
Malaki ang naging paghanga ni Jennylyn Mercado kay Derek Ramsay habang ginagawa nila ang first team-up nila sa English Only, Please. “Gentleman siya in the true sense of the word”, Jennylyn describes Derek. “Gentleman of the old school”, susog pa niya.
Kasi nga raw, kung tututusin, bihira na ngayon sa mga lalaki ang once dumating ka ay aalalayan ka na kaagad and immediately will offer you an upuan.
Kaya naman daw, all throughout her shooting for the movie, ang feeling niya, lady siya in the true sense of the word.
Well, in English Only, Please, Jennylyn plays a top-notch English teacher hired by newly-arrived New Yorker na turuan siya ng tamang pananalita ng Tagalog.
Ang nakakatawa raw, according pa rin kay Jennylyn, bago pa man natututong managalog si Derek, nagkaka-inlaban na silang dalawa.
Dahilan daw sa kabaitan at pagiging true gentleman ni Derek, kaya hindi nagdalawang isip si Jennylyn nang tanungin siya ng kanilang director, si Dan Villegas, if she would agree na magkaroon sila ng kissing scene. And it is daw torrid to say the least.
