YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

A graduate of Theater Arts from no less than the University of the Philippines (UP), guess what Eugene Domingo’s plan for the New Year is?

Well, lessen her work load bilang showbiz personality so she can pursue a new course. Probably ’di na sa UP. Maski saang paaralan this time.

As she is now looking forward to her future. What to do with her earnings. At mga naiipon.

She wants to invest her money. Properly, aniya. And that is her advice rin sa kanyang colleagues. Theirs, after all nga naman, is an unstable profession. Kaya they wouldn’t know what is in store for them when projects cease to slow down. Or, whatever.

Thus, it’s best nga naman to save for the rainy days.

In this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Eugene plays the dual role once more in her entry Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel. Pero she said last na ito sa tatlong Kimmy Dora film series.

Ang Prequel ay directed by Chris Martinez at ang leading man niya this time ay si Sam Milby. Others in the cast are Joel Torre and Angel Aquino.

Robin tanggap na si BB basta magpapaka-disente

Robin Padilla takes to 10,000 Hours, his Metro Manila Film Festival entry, as sort of a sequel to the late Rudy Fernandez’s first movie about former Sen. Panfilo Lacson.

Yet to say that this movie is a propaganda for him, for whatever political plans he may have in the future, I would deny this.

‘‘Instead, it’s about him and his fight against corruption. Which is what I admire in him,’’ susog pa ni Robin.

For 10,000 Hours, we all know that Direk Joyce Bernal gave up an offer from Kris Aquino, no less, to direct My Little Bossings, which top billed her, Bossing Vic Sotto, Aiza Seguerra, and child stars Ryzza Mae Dizon and Bimby Aquino Yap, Jr. Although, she knew na magiging box-office hit ang pelikula.

‘‘Unang dahilan kung bakit mas pinili ni Direk Joyce ang 10,000 Hours kesa My Little Bossings is because mas nauna ko nga itong tinanggap.

And I felt this was an opportunity for me na matupad ang pangarap kong ito with 10,000 Hours,’’ paliwanag ni Direk Joyce.

And he proved very cooperative as well sa shooting ng movie.” Speaking of Robin, for his next project, we heard he wants to produce a movie co-starring him with older brother turned ‘‘sister’’ Rustom Padilla, now better known as BB Gandanghari.

Ang anak daw niyang si Ali, who’s 14 years old, ang nagmulat ng kanyang mata by giving him a short lecture on ‘‘acceptance.’’

Henceforth daw, sabi niya sa sarili niya, he will let Rustom be. As long as he is happy. As long as he doesn’t go beyond, wika nga, the call of decency.
