TV and movie director-turned-Congressman (of Taguig City’s fourth district, The Fort, included), that’s who.

Who the lucky bride is?

Well, may iba pa ba?

Fille Cainglet, the Atenean and popular volleyball player.

Sabi nga ni Cong (short in Congressman) Lino, the first time he laid eyes on Fille, he knew right away, she’s the one.

No wonder that he has never let go of her, henceforth.

How he proposed to her ay wari mo’y eksena sa isang TV series, o pelikulang dinirek niya.

He recalled that they were at a park in The Fort, just whiling their time away, when they started talking about themselves. About the future.

At that particular moment, hindi pa niya intention na mag-propose to her, although, may nakareserba na siyang engagement ring na iaalay niya kay Fille once the “big moment” come.

The engagement ring he bought was significant for him as, when he purchased it sa isang jewelry store, kasama ang kanyang mommy, no less.

Cong. Lino is the youngest among four children, who include Senators Pia and Allan Cayetano. And another brother na wala, kumbaga, sa limelight.

Their Dad is, of course, the late lawyer and politician, Rene Cayetano na sumikat din TV and radio hosting.

Now, to go back to the night he proposed to Fille, he remembered she was telling him of how nice it would be if several years after their marriage and togetherness, muli silang mag-renew ng kanilang wedding vows.

What Fille said touched him, thrilled him. Sa totoo lang, he said. To him, that moment, he felt, was the right time to propose.

And voila, bago niya nalaman, nakaluhod na siya sa harapan ni Fille and solemnly professing anew his deep love for her. And tan ta ran tan, the proposal, if she would agree to marry him anytime soon.

The wedding, na mangyayari before the New Year, will be both solemn and quite lang and out of town. At ang mga iimbitahan nila ay mga kamag-anak at malalapit na kaibigan lang.

Even their wedding sponsors are maituturing nilang lahat na malapit sa kanila. They include San Juan Congressman Ronaldo Zamora and his brother, Manny, whom he is both close, too. And their respective wives.

Actually, ang pinili nilang mga ninong at ninang ay mga couple na alam na nilang bumilang na ng ilang taong pagsasama at lahat happily married. Sabi nga ni Cong. Lino, like their wedding sponsors, gusto niyang ang union nila ni Fille ay ‘di lang magtagal habang buhay and bawa’t isa sa kanila, kung hindi puno pa rin ng pagmamahal at kaligayahan.

Next year, balak ni Cong. Lino na mag-organize ng party for his showbiz friends, kasama, of course, ang entertainment press, nang ma-meet nila si Mrs. Fille Cayetano.

Tiyak daw niyang ‘di lang mai-impressed nito ang lahat. Kung hindi kanilang mamahalin din. Ang bait daw kasi ni Fille.

In the same interview, we asked Cong. Lino kung magkakilala sina Fille at Gretchen Go, girlfriend naman ng dating Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) teenage housemate at ngayon busy as a tv host, Robi Domingo, since they are not only both Atenean but engaged, too, in the same sport-volleyball.

Ang kanyang quicky reply: “They are close friends.”
