Against All odds that would have co-starred him with Judy Ann Santos and KC Concepcion.
John Estrada has replaced him na sa teleserye.
Well, according to people close to Jericho, the reason why he voluntary gave up the series is because matagal ngang hindi nasimulan ito kaya dumating sa puntong he had to choose kung alin ang pipiliin niya, ito bang Against All Odds o ang natanguan niyang trabaho for a network in Malaysia.
Isa ring series, tulad ng Against All Odds, taping for the Malaysian project will bring Jericho to several places in Europe.
Whattamen may reunion
Now married and father to a nearly two-year-old kid, Dominic Ochoa will soon be seen anew in the upcoming series, Maria Mercedes, an adaptation of a Mexican novel topbilled by Mexican actress Thalia.
Tapped to play the title role in ABS-CBN’s newest star sensation, Jessy Mendiola.
Currently, Jessy plays leading lady to Matteo Guidicelli in the top afternoon series Paraiso that might end in three weeks.
Dominic says he has no idea yet who the other players in the series will be. “What I did know is that, ’di gaanong mahaba ang role ko sa series.
“Which to me doesn’t matter much. Getting exposed in what is predicted this early na magiging top rater excites me na.â€
Another reason daw for Dominic’s excitement these days is the replay of his former comedy show, Whattamen, with the late Rico Yan, Vhong Navarro, Marvin Agustin, John Prats, and AiAi delas Alas on SkyCable’s Jeepney TV.
“As I watch Whattamen now, nabibigyan ako ng pagkakataon and I guess ’yung mga dating nanonood ng show, ng insights on the highlights and low points,†sabi ng aktor.
From Dominic we learned that Whattamen was on the air for almost four years.
Ganun pa man, dagdag pa rin niya, wala siyang regrets. The replay of Whattamen in the Kapamilya channel allows daw the comedy show pati na rin, of course, ang kanyang mga co-star na sina Marvin, Vhong, John, AiAi, at ang nasirang si Rico close to the hearts of the Filipino audience.
Proof daw na Whattamen still counts among the viewers is the decision of the “powers†behind Jeepney TV to do a special, entitled Whattamen Reunited, scheduled to be aired on Palm Sunday, March 24.
Yes, the airing is on SkyCable Channel 69.
Good Friday on March 29 will mark Rico’s 11thdeath anniversary.
Let’s all pause for a minute and pray for Rico.
Vilma madalas walang makeup
Now to a more pleasant topic. Obviously, all for the love of Ate Vi (aka Batangas Governor Vilma Santos), who plays the title role on this indie flick directed by Jeffrey Jeturian.
Ate Vi’s initial experience na gumawa ng indie movie, she plays an extra in it. We are told na in most of her scenes Ate Vi hardly wear any makeup.
“Kasi nga bilang ekstra ’di siya supposedly matutong umarte, hanggang sa tumanda siya,†said someone connected with the production.
“Sa isang eksena nga, kunwari tinatalakan siya ni Direk Joey Reyes na pumapapel bilang direktor, appearing in a special role, dahil ’di niya mabigyan ng justice ang eksena na maikli na nga ay ’di hindi pa niya magampanan ng mahusay. Kung sabagay, ito ang dahilan why she supposedly has remained as extra hanggang tumanda siya.â€
