Robin nahawa na kina Kris at Anne!

Excited daw si Robin Padilla having Gloria Sevilla playing his mom in his upcoming series Kailangang Ko’y Ikaw.

As Robin said, Gloria, who is the widow of this late uncle, Amado Cortez (real name: Arsenio Padilla), is not just an auntie to him. She also happens to be his ninang.

‘‘I remember,’’ kuwento ni Binoe (Robin’s pet name), ‘‘Noong bata pa ako, basta may okasyon, Christmas o kaya birthday ko, sa kanya galing ang pinaka-expensive na gift na natatanggap ko.’’

It’s the first time for Gloria and Robin to work together in a series. Kaya, tulad niya, sobrang happy daw si Gloria.

‘‘Noon pa man alam ko nang magaling na artista si Nanay Gloria,’’ sabi Robin.

‘‘Working with her makes me realize why in this business, producers sa TV at movies, ay kinukuha pa rin ang kanyang services.’’

Two other Padillas, wika nga, featured in Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw are Daniel Padilla, who plays the young Robin, at ang mommy ni Daniel na si Karla Estrada.

Likewise, labis na nagpapasalamat daw si Robin kina Kris Aquino at Anne Curtis dahil parehong choice ng dalawa na siya ang makasama sa series. As Kris said, plantsado na ang pagasama nila ni Anne sa Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw as early as the late 2011.

But who will play their leading man, wala pa silang napili. Until nga last year, when they were asked by Deo Edrinal, who is producing the series for his business unit, asked them if they had a particular leading man in mind.

‘‘Hayan at nag-swak ang aming choice,’’ sabi ni Kris, who is working with Binoe for the first time.

In the case of Anne, nagkasama na sila sa isang Viva Films movie, noong siya’y teenager pa raw at ’di pa kasing sikat si Robin, tulad ngayon.

‘‘They are both napakabait as co-workers,’’ sabi pa ni Robin tungkol kina Kris at Anne. ‘‘Minus their cooperation ewan kung paano ko magagampanan ang role ko bilang isang lalaking, after ilang ulit nabigo sa pag-ibig, ay suddenly na-in love sa dalawang magkapatid na magkaiba ang pag-uugali at paniniwala sa pag-ibig.’’

Working with both din daw made Robin discover kung bakit sikat na sikat ang dalawa. At kung bakit in demand ang mga ito for work.

The two are real professionals when it comes to their work. Punctual kung dumating sa set ang mga ito. At ready na kapwa sa mga eksena nilang kukunan.

Obvious daw that the two’s dedication to their work have rubbed on him. He is now as punctual when reporting to the set.

Direk Malu nag-rigodon

Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, according naman to its director, Bb. Joyce Bernal, started with Malu Sevilla as director. The job had to be handed out to her when Direk Malu was assigned to Against All Odds.

Now naman Against All Odds has temporarily been ‘‘put aside’’ its taping dahil two of its stars Judy Ann Santos and Sam Milby are busy with other assignments.

Host si Judy Ann sa ongoing reality cooking program MasterChef Pinoy Edition. Sam naman, together with Paulo Avelino, plays leading man to Angeline Quinto in her first lead series na Kahit Konting Pagtingin.

Kaya raw Direk Malu has to be given another assignment, the Coco Martin soon-to-be aired teleserye, Juan dela Cuz.

Bb. Joyce will soon start directing a movie for Star Cinema, starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.
