Snooky Serna susunggaban na lahat ng role magkatrabaho lang

Snooky Serna, at 40 something, no longer mind doing roles that was unthinkable before para sa kanya.

Yes, tulad halimbawa when she was offered to play the role of a lola in the TV remake of her first starring vehicle, when she was younger, ang Blusang Itim.

In her recent series, the Book Two of Ange­lito, Batang Ama, also on ABS-CBN, mother naman ni Charee Pineda ang kanyang naging papel.

Meron din siyang apo rito, mga eight years old lang ang bata.

In real life, of course, Snooky is mother to two girls na pareho nang past their teens. They are both in school pa.

Snooky swears she is loveless at the moment. And she’s not looking for one to love again. Although ’di naman niya dini-discount ang possibility na one day soon she will fall in love again.

Legal na ang hiwalayan nila ng asawang si Ricardo Cepeda, who, unlike her appears to have found a new love in former ramp model turned occasional actress Marina Benipayo.

Xian at Kim may pang-Valentine

Having a mom for a pianist exposed Xian Lim to music at an early age. Kaya ’di lang pagtugtog ng piano ang kanyang alam kundi may ilan pang instrumento. Kabilang na ang pag-play ng trumpeta.

Matatandaang when Xian first came to the country from the US, where he was born and grew up, ang pangarap niya ay mapabilang sa isang banda.

But then, tulad ng alam natin, he signed up with Star Magic, the discovery and talent arm of ABS-CBN, where the ‘‘powers’’ behind the said management told him he has the potential na maging artista.

Luck was with him, Xian agrees, when he was cast as a supporting player in the series My Binondo Girl. ’Di siya ang supposed na maging leading man ni Kim Chiu who topbilled the project, kung hindi si Jolo Revilla. But, as we all know, nagkasakit si Jolo at ’di makapag-report for taping regularly.

‘‘Before I knew it I was assigned more scenes than I expected,” Xian recalled. “My team up with Kim may have clicked with the televiewers. Kaya, Kim ended up with me.’’

Henceforth they have been in more projects together, the most current of which is the high-rating series Ina, Kapatid, Anak.

We heard that they will soon do a movie together for Star Cinema’s Valentine offering. Joyce Bernal has been tapped to direct the project.

Amy nanganak na sa pangatlo

Nagsilang kahapon ng kanyang pa­ngatlong anak si Amy Perez, known to her followers in the show Face to Face, on TV5, as Tiang Amy.

Second baby ito ni Amy at ng kanyang current partner na si Carlo Castillo, who is with DZMM.

May anak si Amy, ang kanyang panganay, sa isang dating band singer.

Heard that Amy will name her baby, Isaiah.

Tirso pinakisamahan ni Kris

Looks like walang let up ang pagiging busy actor ni Tirso Cruz III or Pip to all of us, his friends.

As his wife, Lyn (formerly Ynchausti) said, 2013 appears to have started right for her husband. Not only because his current movie, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, Sisterakas, is         doing very well sa box office and might end up as the event’s top grosser, but because his new series, Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, is set to start airing this month.

In Sisterakas, he played father to Kris Aquino, with whom Pip is again appearing with in Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.

‘‘It’s my first time to work with Kris. And in two projects pa in a row. You have to work with her para ma-realize mo how professional she can be. With her current status sa showbiz, plus, the fact na talagang may maipagmamalaki naman talaga ang kanyang pamilya, well, she is far from being mahirap pakisamahan.

‘‘In fact, siya pa kamo ang nakikisama. To Kris, and to all of these I’ve worked in Sisterakas, and is currently working with in Kailangan…, I would love to work with all of you again,’’ pahayag ni Pip.
